In today’s increasingly conscious world of skincare, I would like to introduce some safe and effective skincare ingredients.
The skincare effect of quercetin: By inhibiting tyrosinase activity (a key enzyme in melanin production), blocking the melanin synthesis pathway, reducing pigmentation, acne scars, and uneven skin tone. Clearing free radicals helps delay photoaging, has a certain inhibitory effect on Propionibacterium acnes, and helps improve acne prone skin. Suitable for oily/neutral skin, dark complexion, obvious pigmentation (such as melasma and sunspots), non sensitive skin, and people who can tolerate certain irritations. Attention: The concentration is generally controlled between 1% and 2%. High concentrations can easily cause redness and peeling. Avoid using strong acidic components (such as acid and salicylic acid) simultaneously, as this may exacerbate irritation.
The skincare benefits of arbutin: Its core function is gentle whitening, as it inhibits tyrosinase activity, prevents melanin from transferring to the epidermis, and brightens the skin. It can help with anti-inflammatory repair, and some studies have shown that it can alleviate inflammation caused by ultraviolet radiation and help maintain skin hydration. Arbutin has low irritation and is suitable for sensitive skin and long-term use. It has no photosensitivity and can be used during the day, but it needs to be combined with sunscreen to enhance its effectiveness. Target audience: Sensitive or dry skin, dark yellow skin tone, newly formed acne scars. People who pursue mild whitening and are intolerant to potent ingredients such as quercetin and hydroquinone.
Retinol promotes the synthesis of collagen and elastin in the dermis, slows down their degradation, and improves skin sagging, fine lines, and wrinkles. It can accelerate the renewal of epidermal cells, making the skin smoother and firmer. Research has shown that continuous use of retinol can reverse photoaging damage and have significant long-term effects. Retinol has anti-inflammatory and regulatory effects on keratin metabolism, which can unclog pores, reduce abnormal keratinization of hair follicles, and inhibit the proliferation of Propionibacterium acnes. It has an improving effect on closed acne, blackheads, and inflammatory acne. Retinol accelerates the metabolism of keratinocytes, promotes the shedding of old waste cells containing melanin, while inhibiting tyrosinase activity and reducing melanin production. When used in combination with other whitening ingredients such as vitamin C, it can synergistically brighten skin tone and reduce pigmentation.
Retinal can promote the normal differentiation of keratinocytes, reduce the accumulation of keratin in pores, and make the appearance of pores more delicate. Meanwhile, by thickening the epidermis and dermis, the overall skin becomes firmer and smoother. Retinol can increase the content of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) such as hyaluronic acid in the epidermal layer, enhancing the skin’s moisturizing ability. Long term use can enhance barrier function, reduce dryness and sensitivity. Retinol can neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative damage caused by ultraviolet radiation. Despite its inherent photosensitivity (requiring nighttime use), it can significantly delay skin aging by repairing photoaging damage such as pigmentation and wrinkles.
